Spartan: MIT 2.009 team Project
2.009 is the capstone mechanical engineering class at MIT. The course involves a single semester-long product development.
I was a member of red team in Fall 2020, which was an iteration of 2.009 heavily affected by the pandemic. The product is a training aid for boxers and boxing enthusiasts. It mounts to a punching bag and uses a soft mechanical arm to simulate the counterstrikes of an opponent. This allows boxers to simultaneously train both their offensive and defensive capabilities without a sparring partner. This project was very much a team effort, so I've included only my own contributions and the final results on this page. I was the originator for the mechanism design and the electronics design for the product. |
